Apprenticeship at Zen Dog Seattle, LLC

We work with nearly 100 dogs each week and are always looking for dedicated, reliable, and talented assistants to join our training team.

Because consistency and dependability are essential in dog training, the most important quality we look for is someone who can reliably commit to a weekly schedule and show up prepared and engaged, and follow instructions thoroughly.

Our apprenticeship program is designed to mentor individuals who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in force-free, science-based dog training.  There are two types of apprenticeship opportunities, described below. If you’d like additional details or to apply, please contact me.

Apprenticeship Opportunities

1. Volunteer Apprenticeship
For individuals who want to gain experience assisting in classes. Volunteers commit to helping in 1–2 classes per week and receive training benefits after a set number of hours.

2. Professional Training Track
For those pursuing a career in dog training. This track includes weekly observation and hands-on assistance in at least 2 classes per week, structured learning materials, ongoing feedback, and skill evaluations. After a set training period and successful completion of assessments and exams, there may be opportunities for a paid assistant position.
